A sporting celebration of 70th anniversary of the flight of the Comet

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the iconic first flight of the Comet, the council is helping Hatfield Town Council - as part of their World Hatfield Festival - to organise a week-long programme of sporting events.

The Comet

Thanks to funding received from Hatfield Community Sports Fund, a series of events and opportunities for the community will take place between Saturday 20 July to Sunday 28 July. There are already a range of partners involved, including Hatfield Town Council, parkrun, Potential Kids, Herts Disability Sports Foundation, Apex 360, Give Your Town the Run Around and WelHat Sports.


There will be talks, exhibitions, sporting events and much more. Events and projects range from a Parkrun, walking football, aerobics, inflatable obstacle courses, wheelchair rugby, boccia and give it a go sessions.
