Fun and Games to Keep the Kids Entertained at Half Term
From yummy cooking and arts and crafts to skating and slime making, there's lots going on in Welwyn Hatfield this half term to keep the kids entertained.
Mill Green Museum and Mill
Turn the clock back 100 years and find out how Welwyn Garden City became a town designed for living, working and playing. The centenary exhibition, 'Welwyn Garden City: By Wisdom and Design', showcases original objects from the museum collection, from 1920s furniture to a midwife's uniform and equipment. There's dressing up and interactive activities for little kids and big kids too!
There's also arts and crafts days for your little treasures to create some decorative treasures including leaf bowl making and wall hangings, inspired by renowned local artist, Patrick Heron, whose work is currently on display in the museum gallery.
If all that activity leaves everyone with an appetite, pop in to the pop-up kitchen serving locally sourced food, including Mill Green's freshly baked bread.
Roman Baths, Old Welwyn
Hidden just nine metres under the A1(M) motorway, there's a treasure trove for budding little gladiators and centurions. Explore what life was like in Roman times and make a lucky charm Roman pendant. Hail Caesar!
The Hive at the Jim McDonald Centre, Hatfield
From multi sports and slime making to bouncy disco and puppet making there's lots of fun things to do every day.
Campus West, Welwyn Garden City
Let their creative energy run wild in Soft Play City + free entry to Create and Play paper crafting sessions. Plus there's skating at Roller City, Humphrey's café and three cinemas showing the latest kids blockbusters Dolittle, Spies in Disguise and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Councillor Terry Mitchinson, Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Communications, said,
We hope families will enjoy the wide choice of great value entertainment on offer this half term. From imaginative play through to energy busting activities, there's a weatherproof week of fun things to do.
