Hatfield town centre shops open for business
Hatfield town centre is very much open for business again after non-essential shops were allowed to resume trading on 15 June provided they followed government safety guidelines, giving customers a safe welcome back.
Various measures have been put in place around the town centre and in individual stores, such as floor markings and one-way systems, to ensure customers can shop safely.
There will also be stewards, easily identifiable in hi-vis, available to assist shoppers with social distancing and safe queueing.
Councillor Bernard Sarson, Executive Member Regeneration, Economic Development and Partnerships, said:
It's more important than ever to support our town centres now. Our local businesses have faced some really challenging circumstances but they have worked very hard to ensure the community can enjoy a safe shopping experience in Hatfield town centre. I would encourage everyone to shop local to show their support, whilst following the guidelines.
Vikki from Pedigrees 'n' Pooches located in Market Place said: We're really happy being open again and seeing our customers. We're also super happy to see our four legged friends returning to us for a long overdue hair cut!
John from the Family Jewellers in The Arcade was also pleased to be open for business, saying: It's good to be back! A big thank you to all our customers supporting us. We can't wait to see them visiting us.
The popular Hatfield Market will resume trading on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 27 June, with the Farmers' Market reopening from 11 July.
