A webinar for parents, guardians and carers on key issues impacting young people today, has been organised next month by the Welwyn Hatfield Community Safety Partnership.
Featuring expert speakers on mental health, online safety and youth violence and gangs, the free webinar provides advice and guidance on how to protect children:

Gavin McKenna is the pioneer behind Reach Every Generation. He has journeyed from gang membership in London to born again Christian, using his past life experiences to set about influencing societal change.

Marilyn Hawes - Online safety and grooming
Marilyn tells the story of her experience as a parent to three boys who were victims of grooming and abuse. She's a regular speaker across the UK, educating people on preventing child sexual abuse and tuning into their instincts to spot the signs and take action.
Councillor Terry Mitchinson, Executive Member Leisure, Culture and Communications, said:
Exploitation and mental health issues can impact children and young people of all ages and backgrounds. The lockdown has increased these concerns, with schools closed for the majority of young people and many spending more time unsupervised on and offline. We hope this webinar will increase awareness of these issues and help parents, carers and guardians to spot the signs and know how to take action.
The webinar takes place on 11 March 2021. Register for your free place at https://parent-guardian-awareness-sessions-2021.eventbrite.co.uk/.
