On the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, we honour the victims and survivors of genocide, and pledge ourselves to creating a better, stronger, and more cohesive society in the United Kingdom.
Every year, Remembering Srebrenica UK selects a theme that reflects an aspect of the genocide that must be commemorated, but also speaks to communities here across the country.
The UK's Srebrenica Memorial Week for 2020 will be taking place from 5th to 12th July.
The theme for 2020 is 'Every Action Matters'. This theme was launched by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, The Rt Hon. Robert Jenrick MP at the House of Commons on 11th February 2020.
On the 25th anniversary of the genocide, in which over 8,000 Muslim men and boys were murdered in the worst atrocity on European soil since the Second World War, we reaffirm our commitment to standing against all forms of intolerance that targets groups based on religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or any other type of difference and reflect on how we can come together to build a better future for all.
