In what has been a tough and uncertain year for sports clubs, the Forum will discuss local and national funding options as well as providing an update on the sports facilities and playing pitch strategy.

Chairman and Head Coach of Comets Junior Badminton Club, Dave Bartlett, said:

"Comets Junior Badminton Club has attended many club forums over the years and always found them useful, particularly finding funding and new members. We get to hear the up-to-date information on what's available - really useful in these times! - and have gained valuable insights shared by others in similar situations.

"All the items on this agenda are really timely!"

Councillor Terry Mitchinson, Executive Member for Leisure, Culture and Communications, said:

"The impact of COVID-19 on grass-roots sport has been huge but the pandemic has also highlighted just how important our local clubs are to the community for both physical and mental wellbeing.

"This Forum is an ideal opportunity for the many sports clubs and groups we have in the borough to come together to learn what support is available to them and discuss how we can work together to promote participation in local sport."

The evening will end with an open discussion. If you have any specific questions you would like answered, please submit them to sport@welhat.gov.uk, prior to the event.
