This Girl Can Returns to Welwyn Hatfield
This Girl Can, the successful campaign to get women and girls active, returns to Welwyn Hatfield in June and the council is calling on local sports clubs and organisations to get involved by planning activity sessions - either in-person or virtually.
Now in its sixth year, the popular Sport England campaign aims to inspire women and girls to get active while also celebrating those who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get.
We will be celebrating This Girl Can in Welwyn Hatfield from 14-20 June.
Local clubs and organisations who want to be part of Welwyn Hatfield's week-long event and deliver an activity can download and complete the form on https://one.welhat.gov.uk/ThisGirlCan and email it to email@example.com.
Those submitting an activity will be entered into a prize draw to win £250 for their club to use on women's and girls' activities. Full terms and conditions can be found on the website.
All the various activities will be publicised on the events calendar on the one.welhat.gov.uk website during This Girl Can week.
Milan Johnston, Sports Partnership Officer at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council said:
"As we continue to come out of lockdown, people are looking for new ways to get active so this is a great opportunity to get more women in the area involved in sport and physical activity.
"We're looking forward to partnering again with the many amazing clubs and organisations in Welwyn Hatfield and giving them the opportunity to showcase the breadth of different activities and sessions that are available to local women and girls."
