Get on your bike with a free Ride Leadership Award course

If the Tokyo Olympics has inspired you to get on your bike then why not become a Guided Ride leader by booking a spot on a leadership course, organised by British Cycling and funded by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

The Ride Leadership Award course, taking place on 4 September at Hertfordshire Sports Village, has 10 free spaces and priority will be given to residents of Welwyn Hatfield.

The course is suitable for all cycling abilities and provides participants with the skills required to lead rides on British Cycling's Guided Rides programme.

Guided Rides are free, local rides for the community, which encourage people of all abilities to enjoy cycling in a relaxed and sociable environment.

The deadline for booking onto the course is Saturday 21 August.

Cllr Bernard Sarson, Executive Member, Leisure and Community Safety said: "We're delighted to be able to fund this Ride Leadership course for local residents.

"You don't need to be a Jason or Laura Kenny to volunteer as a Ride Leader, just have lots of enthusiasm and be willing to support others. Guided rides are a fun way to get outside, improve your fitness and meet new people."
