Retro gaming comes to Hatfield as part of #LoveWelHat
Enjoy a weekend of retro video games from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s in Hatfield on 18 and 19 September as part of the council's #LoveWelHat activities, bringing entertainment into our town centres.
A must for all gaming enthusiasts, the Press Start event in the former Peacocks shop in Hatfield town centre is free and there's no need to book in advance.
Classic games include Street Fighter 2, Super Mario Kart, Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Bomberman, Crash Bandicoot, Guitar Hero and loads more. Choose from consoles such as the Nintendo Nes, Snes, N64, Sega Megadrive, Dreamcast and PlayStation 1.
Councillor Tony Kingsbury, Leader of the Council, said:
I'm delighted that we're able to bring yet another fantastic event to Hatfield town centre as part of the council's successful #LoveWelHat campaign. It might even give mums and dads the chance to show the youngsters that they can play video games too!
#LoveWelHat events have taken place in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield on weekends throughout the summer as part of an England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 'welcome back' initiative to encourage people into town centres.
