Show apartment opens in latest phase of £45m Hatfield regeneration
Cabinet members, the Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield and council officers were joined by Lovell's Regional Managing Director for a preview of the new show apartment at Hatfield Rise at High View, Hatfield.
Chief Executive Ka Ng and Councillor Tony Kingsbury, Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, helped as mayor Peter Hebden cut the ribbon to officially launch the new show complex.
The preview gave the group a glimpse of the stunning new apartments before prospective buyers arrive this weekend (15-16 Jan).
As of Saturday 15 January buyers can now reserve a new apartment at one of the most significant regeneration and housing projects in the area.
Hatfield Rise, in High View, a partnership between Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Lovell Homes, is an impressive new development leading the town's ambitious plan to provide more quality new homes. It will deliver a range of housing - from one- and two-bedroom contemporary apartments to three-bedroom houses - over the next two and a half years.
Lovell is building 72 homes, in the first phase, which will include 37 affordable homes. There will be 24 two-bedroom apartments and 11 homes for private sale. During this period, 12 retail units will be constructed.
Each apartment has a number of standout features including full height glazing to show off the spectacular views of the surrounding area from all floors.
Lovell Homes is expecting considerable interest from first time buyers and second steppers for the first phase as Roseanne Bullen, Sales and Marketing director at Lovell Homes, explains:
We are looking forward to showcasing the apartments to local buyers. Hatfield Rise has everything a buyer could want - a good location, well-appointed apartments with great space standards and affordability. It's a fantastic opportunity to get onto the property ladder in Hatfield.
Stuart Gibbons, Lovell Regional Managing Director, London & Southern, said: "We were very impressed with the quality of apartments and I am sure they will be popular with local people. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to deliver much needed homes for the locals. This is a landmark site for the people of Hatfield and this major scheme will transform the area into a vibrant community."
Councillor Tony Kingsbury, Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough, added:
I was very impressed with the quality of the apartments during our preview. Redevelopment across the borough is moving steadily forward and we are proud to be partnering with Lovell on the development work at Hatfield Rise.
We are determined, with our long-term priorities, to provide quality homes through managed growth and are delighted to see our plans taking shape. We can look forward to the development of a thriving new community in the heart of Hatfield.
All apartments boast excellent space standards, storage and open plan, fully integrated kitchen diners. Location is key for buyers, says Ashtons estate agents, who are marketing the development. The A1 is minutes away by car and the train station less than 10 minutes away.
Jonathan Searles, New Homes Director at Ashtons, said:
Hatfield Rise is an exciting new development that makes the most of a superb location, which is just south of the town centre, minutes from the Galleria Shopping Centre, the University of Hertfordshire and the Hatfield Business Park.
Hatfield has undergone extensive regeneration over the last five years throughout the town including the train station and this provides a great opportunity to get into an area of potential growth. The size of the development and the significant improvements to the immediate surrounding area will create an amazing new community.
In total, Hatfield Rise will deliver 146 quality new homes (37 affordable), 18 retail units, and with a new green space at the heart of the development.
To really appreciate the development and its views, potential buyers are now being asked to register for a viewing.
Prices start from £334,500.
