The 12-week course, run by Watford Football Club's Community Trust in partnership with Herts County Council, will take place at Hatfield Leisure Centre starting from 19 April.

Each 90-minute Shape Up Together session includes physical activities and coaching as well as information on nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Shape Up Together for those with a learning disability is Tuesdays from 12.30-2pm. The session for adults with a mental health diagnosis is 2pm - 3.30pm.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council Chief Executive, Ka Ng, said:

We're delighted to welcome Shape Up Together back to the borough. We all want to look after our health and the courses we are running at Hatfield Leisure Centre provide a friendly, supportive atmosphere for people wanting to lose weight and learn about maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

Shape Up Together project officers Sadie Walden and Shaun Murphy said:

Over the last six years, Shape Up has helped educate more than 1,700 men about sustainable exercise. In that time, our participants have lost over seven tons in weight. In 2022 we have opened up Shape Up sessions to women, as well as specific courses for adults with disabilities and/or mental health concerns. Come and see what you could lose.
