New housing maintenance contract with Morgan Sindall Property Services

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has signed a new £11 million per annum housing maintenance contract with property services specialist, Morgan Sindall Property Services, for the repair and maintenance, out of hours services, void and planned works of its 9,500 council-owned properties.

Morgan Sindall Property Services Managing Director, Alan Hayward and its Partnerships Director, Paul Reader joined WHBC Chief Executive Ka Ng, Leader of the Council, Councillor Tony Kingsbury, Executive Member for Housing, Councillor Fiona Thomson and Procurement Manager, Andrew Harper to sign the new contract in the Council Chamber.

Morgan Sindall Property Services will take over the maintenance contract from Mears Limited in October this year, for an initial period of five years with the potential to extend the contract for up to a further five years.  As part of their commitment to partnership working, Morgan Sindall will be co-located with WHBC staff at council offices in Campus East, Welwyn Garden City.

We are very much looking forward to working collaboratively with Morgan Sindall Property Services to provide a housing maintenance service that is focused on our residents and their needs.  This new maintenance contract will use state-of-the-art technology to manage responsive and planned works with real time customer updates on repairs status, whilst providing more opportunities for customers to feedback on the quality of service they receive.
