Roll up for the new Hatfield Community Fair!
Come along to the council's first ever Hatfield Community Fair in White Lion Square on Tuesday 30 August, where there will be fun activities, performances and community information aimed at all ages.
From 11am until 4pm, visitors can take the opportunity to connect with organisations, charities and community groups that offer a wide range of support services. Hatfield Library will be opening its doors, with information about all that is on offer in the local community. There will also be details on health and wellbeing, skills and employment and environmental awareness. Interactive demonstrations will be staged from local clubs, as well as fun activities to get involved with.
The aim of the community fair is to give residents a taste of how local groups are working for stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods - and how people can get involved should they wish to. There will also be face painting, a circus workshop and a climbing wall.
There will be entertainment too, with Immi Davis, the nine-year-old singer who performed at the Welwyn Hatfield Youth Awards this year, and who wowed Simon Cowell as a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent, singing at the event!
The Mayor, Cllr Barbara Fitzsimon, will also be attending from 1.30pm.
Terry Mitchinson, Executive Member, Leisure and Community, said:
There really will be something for everyone, with interactive demonstrations and support information, not to mention entertainment.
The event had to be postponed from its initial date in July, but this has just meant that we've now got an even bigger array of organisations and activities to incentivise, inform and support our local community! It promises to be a great way of connecting people to the many things happening locally, and more widely. See you there!
