Garden waste service suspended until further notice
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, our waste collection services are currently operating with a reduced number of staff.
Working closely with our contractors, we have made the difficult decision to suspend garden waste (brown bin) collections from today (Wednesday 25 March) until further notice. This will allow us to prioritise our most critical collection services, including refuse (black bins), recycling (blue-lidded bins) and clinical waste.
Brown bins that were put out today (Wednesday), unfortunately, will not be collected.
We advise all residents who use the brown bin for their food waste to put it in their black refuse bin for collection.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and we ask for your understanding and patience during this challenging time.
If you have already paid for 20/21 garden waste collections, your subscription will remain in place. We will not be issuing refunds at this time, but are working through the best way to compensate residents for the missed collections. We will provide a further update as soon as the full impact on the service is known.
Please continue to check our website for updates regarding this and our other services.
