The Great Big Green Week
We have partnered with Welwyn Garden City's BID to host eco-friendly events in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield!
The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. Every year, people come together to unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet. Tens of thousands of people in every corner of the country celebrate the heartfelt, brave, everyday actions being taken to stand up for nature and fight climate change.
The Great Big Green Week will take place between 8 and 16 June and this year's theme is ‘Lets swap together for good’. Welwyn Hatfield Council and The Welwyn Garden City BID have teamed up to bring a number of events to help residents make some climate conscious swaps for good.
Throughout the week, there will also be interactive and educational stalls about climate change to highlight all the work we are doing around the borough and to launch our new Climate Hub. Officers will also be there to discuss biodiversity (Friday) and waste management (Thursday).
