'Creating a Space for Nature' talks and seed swap

Two exciting talks about 'creating a space for nature' around the borough and in our homes.
As part of Great Big Green Week 2025, join us for an evening with Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust as we explore how we can all create space for nature in our own communities.
The evening will feature two evening talks, offering practical solutions and fresh perspectives on welcoming wildlife into our daily lives.
We’ll hear from:
- Kate Sheard – Wilder Communities Officer at HMWT, who will provide insight and ideas on how we can encourage nature and increase biodiversity in our environments
- James Hare - our own Tree Officer, who will share updates on our local efforts within the public realm to protect and enhance our treescape.
The event will also include a seed swap. We will be bringing the Welwyn Hatfield Council seed bank, so you can swap your unwanted seeds to try something new!
Join us for some tea, coffee, biscuits and inspiring talks!
Taking place inside the Council Chamber at the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council office (next to the Cherry Tree car park).
