Great Big Green Week

Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, when local groups come together to organise events aimed at improving sustainability and conserving the environment.

We’re taking part in the event for the second year in a row because we’ve set ambitious environmental targets, including to achieve net zero carbon emissions as an organisation by 2030, and we want to encourage others to take positive action on climate change.

This year, Great Big Green Week will return to Welwyn Hatfield on 7 to 15 June.

Activities

The theme of this year’s Great Big Green Week is ‘Let’s swap together for good’, encouraging people to exchange items, skills and more to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

We're hoping it will be even bigger and better than last year, with a range of great activities already planned including pond dipping, clothes swaps, and evening talks about ‘creating a space for nature’.
