Decision to be made on adoption of the Local Plan

The final report of the Planning Inspector, appointed to examine borough’s new Local Plan which will shape the area between now and 2036, has been published.

The Inspector’s report concludes that the Plan is sound and legally compliant, subject to a set of agreed changes.

Councillor Jane Quinton, Executive Member for Planning and Regeneration, said:

“The Local Plan is a blueprint for managed growth over the next decade.  The pursuit of a sound Local Plan has been long and challenging, but we are pleased that we have now reached a point where the Council can consider it’s adoption.”

The Inspector’s full report can be viewed at www.welhat.gov.uk/local-plan and a decision on the adoption of the Local Plan will be considered at the Council’s Planning and Parking Panel (CPPP) on the 5 October, Cabinet on the 10 October and Full Council on the 12 October.
