Campus West Introduces SEND Cinema Screenings and Soft Play Sessions

SEND sessions

Campus West, Welwyn Garden City's premier family entertainment venue, is proud to announce the launch of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) cinema screenings and soft play sessions.

In an effort to create a welcoming environment for those with special educational needs and disabilities, Campus West has introduced dedicated SEND cinema screenings. During these screenings, the volume in the cinema is turned down, the lights up and subtitles are displayed to accommodate sensory sensitivities, and provide a comfortable and relaxed viewing experience for individuals who may require additional support.

In addition to the SEND cinema screenings, Campus West is thrilled to introduce soft play sessions tailored to the unique needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities. The play area provides a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore and interact with additional ‘sensory play’, the opportunity to touch, taste, smell and feel.

"We are delighted to introduce SEND cinema screenings and soft play sessions at Campus West. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of cinema and play in an environment that is sensitive to their individual needs," said Cllr Max Holloway, Executive Member for Community and Leisure. "We’re committed to creating inclusive experiences that bring families together and cater to the diverse needs of our communities."

Campus West, celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, remains dedicated to providing a wide range of entertainment options for all members of the communities. From Monday Night Classics to Roller City sessions for all ages, Campus West continues to be a hub for entertainment at affordable prices.
