WHBC Invites You to Honour Your Loved Ones at Oak Hill’s Christmas Memorial Service
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC) is opening the doors at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium this Christmas with its first Christmas Memorial Service on Saturday 9 December 2023 at 11am.
The service is open to the public and is an opportunity to remember and honour loved ones who have passed away, especially during this festive season. Visitors will be able to light a candle, write a message, and hear their loved ones’ names read out during the service. The service will also include readings and Christmas carols, as well as time to reflect.
The service will be held in the Chapel at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium, which will be open from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Light refreshments and mince pies will be served after the service.
Councillor Max Holloway, Executive Member, Community and Leisure, said:
We know how difficult it can be to cope with the loss of a loved one, especially at Christmas time. That’s why we’re organising this special service to offer comfort and support to those who are grieving. Everyone is welcome to attend, it’s going to be a lovely occasion to feel closer to your loved ones and celebrate their lives. We look forward to seeing you at the service.
If you cannot attend in person on the day, you can watch the service live from home or re-watch it for 28 days using the details provided on the website: www.oakhill.welhat.gov.uk/events.
