Retro gaming returns to Welwyn Hatfield!

Retro Nintendo console

Step back in time and enjoy a weekend of retro video games from the '80s, '90s and early 2000s in Welwyn Garden City on 18 and 19 February!

A must for all gaming enthusiasts, and for that matter anyone feeling a little nostalgic, the Retro Gaming Arcade will be at the former Next retail unit in The Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City town centre, from 10am until 5pm both days.

The event will be FREE and there's no need to book in advance - just turn up and play.

Classic games will include Street Fighter 2, Super Mario Kart, Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Bomberman, Crash Bandicoot, Guitar Hero and loads more.

Choose from consoles such as the Nintendo Nes, Snes, N64, Sega Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and PlayStation 1.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Tony Kingsbury, said:

I'm delighted to welcome back the Retro Arcade, to Welwyn Garden City this time. It's open to everyone, though it might even give mums and dads the chance to show off a gaming prowess their children might not know they had! The event was very popular when we had it on in Hatfield and should be a great addition to people's half term plans.

The event is family-friendly, though all under-18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The Retro Arcade project has received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
