New Cabinet Line-up and Joint Administration Announced

The new Cabinet Line-up and Joint Administration for WHBC has been announced.

The new Cabinet Line-up and Joint Administration for Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has been announced following the outcome of the local elections on the 2 May, which saw the council in a continued position of no overall control.

The new Cabinet, set to be confirmed at the Annual Council meeting on Monday 20 May, will be:

  • Cllr Max Holloway - Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Climate Change
  • Cllr Jane Quinton - Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Leisure and Community
  • Cllr Sandreni Bonfante - Executive Member for Environment
  • Cllr Kieran Thorpe - Executive Member for Governance
  • Cllr Gemma Moore - Executive Member for Housing
  • Cllr Rose Grewal - Executive Member for Planning
  • Cllr James Broach - Executive Member for Resources

To represent the Council on civic and ceremonial occasions, Cllr Frank Marsh and Cllr Lynn Chesterman OBE are set to be appointed as Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively.

The new Leader of the Council, Councillor Max Holloway said:

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to build on last year's work, and to continue the collaborative spirit of the Joint Administration.  Together, we will deliver on our shared priorities and work towards building the healthier, cleaner and greener borough that our residents want to see, keeping the community at the heart of everything we do."

Echoing this sentiment, Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Jane Quinton said:

“We continue to be committed to achieving the best results for all of our residents and believe we can best do this through the Joint Administration”.
