Exciting new exhibition ‘What the Wind Saw’ opens at Mill Green Museum on 19 July

The Watermill in Hatfield

This summer, why not visit Mill Green Museum to see their latest exhibition, ‘What the Wind Saw’.

The exhibition is a literary journey through Middle-Hertfordshire, featuring a captivating collection of Middle-Hertfordshire inspired short stories by local author and performer, Zoë Jasko.

Visitors to the exhibition are invited to join Zoë on a literary journey through local towns, villages and landmarks, and enjoy the rich history that Welwyn, Hatfield and beyond has to offer.  Zoë's stories weave together tales from the Roman invasion to Ebeneezer Howard's Garden City legacy, exploring the people and places that have shaped Hertfordshire.

Councillor Jane Quinton, Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Leisure and Community said:

“We are so lucky to have a museum like Mill Green Museum and Watermill in Welwyn Hatfield.  Their new exhibition ‘What the Wind Saw’ is a wonderful celebration of our rich heritage. Zoë Jasko's stories bring to life the history and culture of Middle-Hertfordshire, offering a deeper appreciation of our area's history. This exhibition is testament to what makes Welwyn Hatfield so special. I encourage everyone to visit Mill Green Museum and experience this exhibition for themselves."

Author Zoë Jasko said: “My book is a collection of stories inspired from my walks in the countryside around where I live. I wrote this book because I am proud of the beautiful county of Hertfordshire, and I want others to enjoy it as much as I do. I also wrote my book to encourage us all to walk in the countryside - it's good for our physical health, our mental health, and our imaginations!”

The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, 20 July at Mill Green Museum and will run to November 2024. Admission to the exhibition is included in the Mill Green Museum general admission ticket.

The exhibition will be complimented by a full programme of events at the Museum for adults, children and special interest groups. For listings and tickets for events, please visit millgreenmuseum.co.uk ‘What’s On’ pages.
