ParkPlay comes to King George V playing fields!
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is delighted to announce that Woodhall ParkPlay is coming to the King George V playing fields in Welwyn Garden City every Saturday between 10am – 12pm.
The first session will take place on Saturday 3 August and people of all ages are invited to enjoy the outdoors. PlayLeaders will be on-site to greet park users and facilitate fun games including, but not limited to, rounders, handball, bowls, tennis and football.
Supported by Sport England, ParkPlay brings people from local communities together in parks and green spaces for two hours of free, informal games and activities every Saturday morning. The initiative aims to tackle some of the most pressing social issues - lack of exercise, isolation and mental health. The fun sessions will provide a welcoming environment where all generations can play together and connect in a relaxed setting.
Cllr Jane Quinton, Executive Member for Community and Leisure, said
"We recognise the significant benefits of spending time outdoors exercising, leading to improved health, well-being, and overall happiness. We hope the new ParkPlay sessions will inspire more people to enjoy the King George V playing fields on Saturday mornings, providing a fantastic opportunity to get active and socialise with other people.”
To take part in the Woodhall ParkPlay session on the 3 August or at any of the Saturday sessions, register a space at www.park-play.com/register. On arrival, look out for the PlayLeaders and the ParkPlay flag to join in.
