WHBC seeks views on new Transition to Net Zero Strategy as part of its Action on Climate Change
Action on Climate Change is a priority for Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC) and a key commitment in its vision to 2026.
Climate Change was identified as a priority for respondents to a recent Community Survey. The Council has developed a Transition to Net Zero Strategy and is seeking the views of local residents, businesses and community groups on the new Strategy.
The consultation opens from today (4 September) and will be an opportunity for as many people as possible to make their views known on the Strategy which sets out the Council’s vision to become a net zero organisation by 2030 and net zero Borough by 2050. The document outlines the actions that WHBC will undertake to foster a more sustainable and resilient future for Welwyn Hatfield.
WHBC is committed to leading by example in the fight against Climate Change but achieving its goals will require the collaboration and support of everyone that lives in, works in or visits the Borough. Respondents are asked to read the new Strategy before completing the short survey.
The survey will be open to Friday 11 October and can be found here.
The Leader of WHBC and Executive Member for Climate Change, Councillor Max Holloway said: “It was clear from our Community Survey that tackling the causes of Climate Change is a priority for residents and businesses in our Borough. The commitments and goals in our Transition to Net Zero Strategy are ambitious but achieving them will be crucial if, together, we are going to make a difference in reducing the effects of Climate Change. I would encourage everyone to read our new Strategy and complete the short survey.”
