Applications now open for the Hatfield Community Sports Fund!
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC) is now accepting applications for funding from the Hatfield Community Sports Fund including applications for the Small Grants and Equipment fund.
The grants are to help local not-for-profit sports clubs and organisations deliver safe, high-quality and affordable sports and leisure services.
Eligible projects must meet the fund’s core requirement of providing sustainable sports initiatives and opportunities in Hatfield, supporting and/or working towards at least one of the following strategic objectives:
- Creating opportunities for young people to participate in sport.
- The development of an existing sporting provision in Hatfield.
- Getting under-represented groups involved in sport in Hatfield, for example women and girls, disabled people, older adults, those from culturally diverse communities and those living with long term health conditions.
Applicants for the Small Grant and Equipment Fund can request up to £5,000 to support costs related to coaching qualifications, equipment and kit, enhancing the governance of a sports club or organisation, or establishing community spaces.
Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Councillor Jane Quinton, said:
Investing in our community’s sports and leisure facilities is a priority for the Council and the Hatfield Community Sports Fund provides essential support to local sport clubs. I’m really pleased that funding is available to help clubs offer inclusive programs and activities, ensuring that everyone in Welwyn Hatfield has access to sports. I encourage all Hatfield sports clubs to consider this valuable resource for their funding needs.
