The Glam Lodge in Hatfield wins Christmas Window Competition

The winner of the competition being presented with the award.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (WHBC) is delighted to announce that The Glam Lodge has won this year’s Hatfield Christmas Window and Market Stall Competition for the second year in a row!

A popular tradition for Hatfield, the festive competition encourages residents and visitors to shop locally and vote for their favourite Christmas window and market stall display in Hatfield Town Centre.

This year, local businesses once again transformed their shopfronts and stalls into dazzling displays of seasonal fun, creating a festive atmosphere for shoppers. Participating businesses included Calamity Comics, Desi Mart, Erol’s Café, Kings Estate Agents, Smarty Schoolwear, Poundstretcher and of course The Glam Lodge. The Glam Lodge were triumphant following stiff competition from the other entrants. Their Christmas themed decorations in Glam Lodge pink stood out for their creativity and festive charm, catching the attention and admiration of voters.

The Glam Lodge is run by award-winning owner Misha, who was thrilled to have won the competition for the second time. The stunning display, created by Abbi Morgan of Light Up Events Hertfordshire, wowed visitors. This is not the first competition that Misha has won, as she has also been recognised at several national Hair and Beauty awards. Misha is keen to give back to her local community and in 2025, The Glam Lodge will launch Hair and Beauty Sessions for young people aged 11 - 16, working with local schools to offer students work experience and empower them with skills, experience and confidence they need to out into the workplace.

Councillor James Broach, Executive Member Resources, said:

The Christmas Window and Market Stall Competition has become a beloved tradition in Hatfield Town Centre. It’s fantastic to see our local businesses putting so much creativity and effort into their displays. Not only does the competition bring festive joy to shoppers, but it also encourages people to shop locally, supporting the vitality of our town centre. A huge thank you to all the businesses that took part and to everyone who voted!
