Applications for Annual Community Grants are now open!
Community groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations can now apply for Annual Community Grants of up to £15,000 to support community projects in 2025/26.
The funding is for projects that make a positive impact on the community and support residents of the borough, whilst also contributing to one or more of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s priorities.
It’s easy and quick to apply for funding. Visit the council’s website and complete the application form at welhat.gov.uk/communitygrants. Online applications are now open and will close on Friday 31 January.
Councillor Jane Quinton, Executive Member for Leisure and Community, said: “Supporting our local community is a priority for the council. The Annual Community Grants provide much needed support to local community groups and organisations that often face challenges in securing funding.
“Despite all the financial challenges that the council is facing, I’m pleased that we are maintaining the same overall amount of Annual Community Grant available for 2025/26 and can continue to provide this support to help local groups achieve their goals and make a difference to our community.”

Community organisations can also benefit from becoming a One Welwyn Hatfield Community Lottery Good Cause. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be able to raise money through your own customisable lottery page. 60% of lottery ticket sales go to Good Causes.
