Defibrillator Installed at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium
WHBC is proud to announce the installation of a 24/7 accessible defib at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery & Crematorium as part of the Community Defib & Bleed Control Kit project, funded by Public Health Herts.
This project aims to increase the availability of lifesaving equipment in strategic locations across the county, ensuring that local communities have quick access to emergency medical resources.
The defibrillator, purchased and installed through the local charity Hearts for Herts, will provide critical support in the event of sudden cardiac emergencies. Hearts for Herts is dedicated to enhancing lifesaving benefits for Hertfordshire communities by offering a complete service package, including installation, regular monitoring, replenishment of parts, community training and advice.
Located outside the main cemetery gates, the defibrillator is designed to be easily accessible to the public at all times.
Cllr Jane Quinton, Deputy Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Executive Member for Leisure and Community said:
The installation of the defibrillator at Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium is a significant step forward in our aim to protect the health and well-being of Hertfordshire residents. The work Hearts for Herts do is inspiring and I’m thrilled we could work with them on this project.
Justin Honey-Jones from Hearts for Herts said "By providing accessible lifesaving equipment and training, we aim to empower local communities to act quickly and confidently when it matters most. We’re so pleased to be able to support Oak Hill with the Community Defib & Bleed Control Kit."
