Hatfield Market Place Set For Exciting Transformation

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has appointed civil engineering specialist Henderson & Taylor to lead the redevelopment of Hatfield Market Place.
The project is a key component of the council’s Hatfield Town Centre regeneration programme, which aims to breathe new life into the town and make it a thriving and attractive place for people to live, work and enjoy.
Work is set to begin in early spring, with completion expected by the autumn. The project will create a vibrant, accessible and sustainable public space, providing a welcoming environment where families and people of all ages can relax, play and enjoy quality time in the heart of the town centre.
Henderson & Taylor are a multi-disciplinary contractor with over 60 years of industry experience delivering projects in Hertfordshire and the South of England, including public realm enhancements.
The Market Place transformation project, which has been developed with input from the local community, aims to reflect the needs of residents while supporting local businesses by increasing footfall and encouraging longer visits. The redevelopment builds on previous projects including the regeneration of White Lion Square and One Town Centre and is being delivered through funding secured through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This project marks a significant step forward in creating a thriving, attractive, and inclusive town centre.
