Exciting Events Return to Hatfield Town Centre this Spring!
Hatfield Town Centre’s family fun events are making a return this March, adding even more vibrancy to the town alongside its regular markets.
Organised by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, these events will once again deliver fantastic entertainment, strengthen community connections and support local businesses.
The first major event of the year, the Spring Fair, will take place on Saturday 29 March, offering a fun-filled day for all ages. Visitors can test their skills with Hook-a-Duck, take on a strength challenge and try out a mega buzz wire, all while enjoying the lively atmosphere in the heart of Hatfield.
Building on last year’s success, a variety of themed events will take place on the second and last Saturday of each month throughout spring and summer. Families can look forward to a one-of-a-kind Pokémon event, hands-on science activities, an Easter Eggstravaganza, a celebration of all things Star Wars, and an interactive circus skills experience, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
In addition, after the popularity of the Diwali event, Hatfield Community Day and the Romanian Festival last year, the council is pleased to continue its commitment to cultural diversity, collaborating with local communities to deliver even more cultural and inclusive events, reflecting the town's diversity and bringing people together.
Alongside these events, Hatfield’s markets continue to play an important role in supporting local businesses and attracting visitors to the town centre. The General Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 3pm between Asda and White Lion Square, offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and unique finds. The Farmers’ Market, held on the first Saturday of each month from 8am until early afternoon, showcases seasonal produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and crafts from local growers and artisans.
Councillor Max Holloway, Leader of the Council and Executive Member for Economic Development and Climate Change said:
"I am delighted that the Hatfield Town Centre events are back and even better than last year. These events bring energy, variety, and build on the strong sense of community in Hatfield, while playing a vital role in supporting our markets and local businesses. Participating in these events helps boost the town centre, drive footfall, and strengthen the local economy, all while enjoying fantastic entertainment."
