Free Events in Welwyn Hatfield for Great Big Green Week 2025

Welwyn Hatfield Council is proud to be taking part in Great Big Green Week for the second year in a row - the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
This year’s theme, ‘Let’s swap together for good’, focuses on exchanging items, skills and ideas to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and create a safer, greener, fairer future for all.
Running from Saturday 7 to Saturday 14 June, the week will be packed with free, family-friendly activities across the borough. Designed to inspire residents to get involved in local sustainability efforts, these events offer simple and practical ways to live greener lives.
The council’s ongoing participation in the campaign reflects its firm commitment to tackling the climate emergency and reaching net zero carbon emissions as an organisation by 2030 and borough by 2050, while empowering residents and local groups to take positive climate action.

“We’re delighted to be supporting Great Big Green Week once again and offering a wide range of free, family-friendly events that make it easy for residents to get involved in climate action. This year’s theme highlights the power of sharing and community, and I encourage everyone to come along, learn something new, and take part in building a greener, more sustainable Welwyn Hatfield.”
