Summer fun at Mill Green Watermill and Museum!

Mill Green Watermill and Museum is the place to be this summer, offering fun family activities, events and delicious refreshments – all set within its charming 18th Century working watermill.
Guided Mill Tours
Step inside the historic mill and discover 1,000 years of milling heritage. Guided tours run every Friday and Sunday, offering visitors the chance to see the traditional machinery in action and learn how the River Lea continues to power the mill today, grinding grain into flour.
Tickets are £6 for adults, £2 for children and are bookable via the Mill Green Watermill & Museum website.
The Miller’s Kitchen
The on-site café, Miller’s Kitchen, is open Fridays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm for its popular cream teas with scones made with flour fresh from the mill and unlimited refills of tea! Also on offer are a daily selection of cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.
On Mondays and Thursdays until 29 August, the kitchen also hosts a pop-up tearoom run by young people as part of a summer training project to help them prepare for the world of work. Enjoy teas, coffees, scones, and other treats in the garden or on the patio. The project is delivered in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council and Mill Green Watermill and Museum.
Mini Millers – Play and Learn
Mini Millers is a fun, themed stay-and-play session for under 5s, taking place every Friday and Sunday at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Each hour-long session includes hands-on activities inspired by milling, baking and rivers, helping little ones learn through play in a unique historic setting. Drinks and snacks are included.
Tickets are £6 for adults, £2 for children and are bookable on the Mill Green Watermill & Museum website. The session is free for those who have already purchased a Mill Tour ticket for the same day.

For something more adventurous, the award-winning ‘Murder at the Mill’ escape room returns for a third year, delivered by Pier Pressure Escape Rooms. Players explore the historic mill and grounds, solve puzzles, and uncover clues to crack the mystery. The experience runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to 25 August, and is suitable for all ages.
