Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is teaming up with BishBashBosh again to bring back the popular Pokémon event on Saturday 9 July, taking place in White Lion Square and at Calamity Comics in Hatfield.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the event promises a fun-filled day for Pokémon fans of all ages! Highlights include a special appearance by Pikachu, a trading card shop with exclusive merchandise in White Lion Square and a free Pokémon GO walking route through the town centre with unique in-game rewards.

For experienced players, a trading card game tournament will offer friendly competition and the chance to win great prizes. For beginners, the free Pokémon Training Academy is the perfect place to learn how to play the card game.

Trading sessions will run throughout the day, with experts available to offer advice on safe and fair trading. Fans can also take part in a Pokémon quiz, try their luck at Pokémon-themed Blackout Bingo, and go home with a Pokémon goodie bag as a souvenir of the day.

Most activities are free, although the Pokémon-themed Blackout Bingo and Pokémon quiz are £3 per person to play. Activity tokens can be purchased from the BishBashBosh TCG shop in White Lion Square.

Councillor Jane Quinton, Deputy Leader and Executive Member, Leisure and Community said:

I am delighted that the Pokémon event is coming back to Hatfield Town Centre. The previous event was a huge success and really brought the community together for a day of fun and learning. I would like to thank WHBC officers and the team at BishBashBosh for organising the activities and we look forward to welcoming fans from across Welwyn Hatfield and beyond to Hatfield.

The event will be running alongside the popular Hatfield market and visitors can take advantage of up to three hours free parking in the town centre’s The Common multi-storey car park.

This event is part of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s summer events programme and funded through the UK shared prosperity fund (UKSPF), a government initiative supporting town centre investment and local businesses.
