October half term in Welwyn Hatfield

A spooktacular half term awaits children of all ages in Welwyn Hatfield this October, with events and activities to keep everyone entertained, even those who couldn’t ‘scare’ less!

Campus West

At Welwyn Garden City’s much-loved family entertainment venue, Campus West, there’s plenty of fun and Halloween treats in store this half term.

The Eras Experience – the Taylor Swift tribute by Xenna is back by popular demand, alongside a lineup of devilishly good films in the Films for a Fiver series, including The Addams Family, Hotel Transylvania, and Hocus Pocus. Little ones can also enjoy the new Disney Junior Cinema Club – a fun-filled big-screen experience made just for them.

Adults can get into the spooky spirit too, with Monday Night Classics featuring An American Werewolf in London and Psycho on Halloween night.

Over at Roller City, older kids can creep it real with special Halloween skate sessions and a Halloween Skate Party on 31 October – complete with spooky tunes, creepy beats, and a fang-tastic atmosphere. Plius, it’ll be a great haunt for adults that night, with a Halloween themed Roll On Friday Adult Disco!

Meanwhile, Soft Play City is hosting special sessions all week, plus a Halloween Party on 31 October for little monsters in fancy dress, with games, prizes, and treats to take home.

Mill Green

At Mill Green Watermill and Museum there will be Halloween arts and crafts aplenty, with timed slots for:

  • Wednesday 29 October – make a clay monster
  • Thursday 30 October – make a witch or your own eco-friendly Halloween slime

Plus, there’s a special Halloween event on Friday 31 October, which runs from 10am until 4pm. Kids can stay and meet the monster miller, visit the plentiful pumpkin patch and carve their own pumpkins, go on the spooky trail and taste a tantalising treat from the Miller’s Kitchen!

Visit the museum’s website’s ‘What’s On’ web page to find full details of the events:  millgreenmuseum.co.uk

Hatfield Town Centre

A spellbinding day of Halloween fun awaits at White Lion Square on Saturday 25 October, with a free afternoon of spooky entertainment for the whole family.

From 10am to 3pm, enjoy a frightfully fun line-up featuring ghoulish face painting, spooky games, and live music from pianist Music2Connect. Expect exciting activities from Calamity Comics and a lively entertainer guaranteed to keep little ones cackling with laughter!

The highlight of the day will be the chance to meet a Halloween-themed character – so bring your little devils dressed as their favourite Halloween characters and join in the spooky celebrations.

Cllr Jane Quinton, Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Member, Leisure and Community, said:

“I’m delighted that there are so many fantastic activities and events happening across Welwyn Hatfield this half term. It’s a great opportunity for families to get out, have fun, and make memories together. I encourage everyone to take a look at what’s on through our Discover event calendar on the ONE Welwyn website.”
