Residents Panel: Highlights from 2025
In 2025, the Residents Panel reviewed housing policies, joined community events, and ensured tenants’ voices were heard in decisions affecting their homes.
We’re incredibly grateful to our Residents Panel for their ongoing support and dedication. Their hard work ensures that tenants’ and leaseholders’ voices are heard and considered in decisions about our housing services.
Here are some of the Panel’s highlights from 2025:
Community Catch-ups
Members of the Panel joined council officers at local events to meet residents and help identify issues that matter most to the community.
Tenant and Resident Engagement Conference
The Residents Panel Chair attended this conference to connect with residents from other housing organisations and learn about the involvement opportunities and projects they offer.
Hatfield Community Fair and WGC Christmas Lights Switch-On
These events gave Panel members the chance to engage with local residents, raising awareness of the Panel and the important work it does.
Meeting Senior Council Management
The Panel met with senior council officers to increase understanding of their role and explore ways to work together more effectively.
Reviewing Complaints Responses
Feedback from the Panel’s focus group is helping the council improve how we communicate decisions on complaints to residents, making the process clearer and more transparent.
Housing Policy Updates
The Residents Panel also reviewed updates to key housing policies to ensure they reflect residents’ priorities and needs, including:
-
Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) policy
-
Damp & Mould policy
-
Decant policy
-
Repairs policy
-
Succession policy
