Get ready for a summer of fun in Welwyn Hatfield!
Welwyn Hatfield is gearing up for a fun and varied programme of summer events for all the family. Organised by WHBC, many of the activities are free, starting with two community focused events.
The first event is a family Activity Day and will take place at King George V Playing Fields in Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday 27 May, from 11am to 3pm. This free, family-friendly day out offers a wide range of entertainment and activities, including face painting (queue will close at 2pm), golf activities, storytelling, SEN football sessions, a large climbing wall, and forest school sessions delivered by Culturewood, featuring nature-themed crafts and activities. This event is open to all ages.
In June, men are invited to Tee Talk on Wednesday 10 June, a relaxed summer evening event supporting Men’s Mental Health Week. Hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Mill Green Golf Club from 5.15pm to 8.30pm, Tee Talk aims to create a welcoming, non-judgemental space for men aged 25–40 to socialise, unwind and connect with others, while raising awareness of mental health and encouraging open conversation. The event will feature golf and footgolf, a live DJ and a BBQ. Local mental health charities, including the OLLIE Foundation, Samaritans, Red Kite and Mind, will also be on hand to offer support and information. Tickets are free and are available to book online.
Throughout the summer, a series of themed events are planned for Hatfield Town Centre, including a Circus Skills Day, a ‘Get Active, Be Healthy’ sports and wellbeing event, and a ‘May the Force Be With You’ Star Wars-themed day. Full details on all events are available at one.welhat.gov.uk/hatfield-events.
Looking ahead, BIG Summer returns from 27 July – 16 August 2026, offering a packed programme of free and low‑cost activities for children, teenagers and families. As part of BIG Summer, the Hatfield Community Fair will take place on 28 July 2026 in Hatfield Town Centre, bringing together local organisations, charities and community groups for a day of free activities and entertainment.
