The Better Health Bus comes to Hatfield
Residents will now be able to access free health checks and services on a regular basis in Hatfield town centre.
The Better Health Bus - a mobile health unit offering a wide range of free health and wellbeing services - will visit White Lion Square approximately every two months following an agreement between Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council.
Designed to help residents who may find it difficult to access traditional health services, the bus provides free, friendly support, including:
- NHS Health Checks, which can detect early signs of conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia.
- Blood Pressure Checks.
- Support to help people stop smoking.
Residents will be able to visit the bus in White Lion Square between 10am and 4pm on the following Fridays:
- 29 May 2026
- 31 July 2026
- 2 October 2026
- 27 November 2026
- 29 January 2027
- 19 March 2027
Councillor Max Holloway, Executive Member for Community and Leisure, said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome the Better Health Bus to Hatfield town centre on a regular basis thanks to this new agreement.
“Having these free health checks and wellbeing services available locally will make a real difference for residents and help more people get support close to home.
“The friendly team are always on hand to discuss your health and wellbeing needs, so be sure to pay them a visit when the bus is in town.”
