Mayor opens UK’s largest Entertainer toy store at The Galleria
Welwyn Hatfield’s new Mayor, Cllr Michal Siewniak, opened toy retailer The Entertainer’s largest-ever UK outlet store at The Galleria in Hatfield on Saturday (30 May).
The opening marks a significant investment in the local area by the toy retailer and is the first outlet store in the country to trade under the new sub-brand, “The Entertainer, Toys for Less.”.
The new store represents a major boost for the borough’s retail offer, bringing increased choice and value for local families and visitors. Shoppers will be able to access leading global brands including LEGO, Barbie and Paw Patrol at outlet prices, alongside The Entertainer’s own ranges such as Early Learning Centre, Addo and Meccano.
The Galleria is already home to a mix of well-known retailers including M&S, TK Maxx, Le Creuset and Waterstones, and the addition of The Entertainer further enhances its position as a key retail and leisure destination in Hertfordshire.
Councillor Astrid Scott, Executive Member for Resources and Economic Development, said:
“Supporting key retail hubs, such as our vibrant town centres and the Galleria, and strengthening the local economy are key priorities identified in our recently adopted Economic Development Strategy. I am delighted that The Entertainer has chosen The Galleria and Welwyn Hatfield to open its largest-ever outlet store in the UK. The arrival of this well-known and much-loved toy retailer is a fantastic addition to The Galleria’s offering. I am sure that residents and visitors will enjoy shopping in the spacious new store.”
Commenting on the landmark opening, Graham Clark, Leasing Director at The Galleria, said: "We see The Galleria as a vibrant community hub where families come together, and adding a major brand like The Entertainer is a huge win for Welwyn Hatfield. The debut of the 'Toys for Less' sub-brand brings top global names to the area at exceptional outlet prices. Alongside our existing cinema and dining options, this opening truly creates a complete day-out experience that supports and rewards our local community."
