Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium is once again raising its prestigious Green Flag. The Green Flag Award recognises well managed parks and green spaces.

Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd MBE said:

“I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Oak Hill in achieving a Green Flag Award.

Oak Hill is a vital green space for the community in Welwyn Hatfield and staff do so much to ensure that it maintains the high standards of the Green Flag Award. Everyone involved should feel extremely proud of their achievement.”

Recently, Executive Member for Community & Leisure, Max Holloway, along with other councillors, had the opportunity to visit Oak Hill to tour the grounds, including the newly built crematorium and gardens, which is expected to open in September.

“Oak Hill is a very special place, and we are delighted that we will soon be able to provide a wider range of cremation and burial options to meet the needs of our communities”. He added “We will shortly be announcing details about Open Days in September for residents to see our new facilities and meet the new, dedicated on-site team”.
