Welwyn Hatfield launches major community survey to shape its direction and services

Have Your Say

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is launching a major survey to find out what matters most to residents, businesses and visitors to the borough.

The council wants to hear from as many people as possible to help shape its direction, priorities and budget for the next three years.

The survey, which runs from 6 September to 1 October 2023, is the biggest of its kind, seeking views on a wide range of services from recycling to museums. For the first time, the council is also asking for views on where to prioritise spending and how additional income could be generated to support local services.

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed online or by requesting a paper copy from the council. All responses will be anonymous and confidential.

Cllr Paul Zukowskyj, Leader of the Council, said:

“This is a great opportunity to have your say on what you think we should focus on in the next three years. We want to make sure that our priorities reflect the needs and aspirations of our diverse communities and that we deliver the best possible services for Welwyn Hatfield. I encourage everyone to take part in this survey and help us shape the future of our borough.”

The results of the survey will be analysed and used to inform the council’s new Corporate Plan, which will set out the council’s vision, values, priorities, budget, and objectives for 2024-2027. The Corporate Plan will be published later this year, with the council’s business plan being published in early 2024.
