We need to live in a less detrimental way, in fact our futures depend on it. Every year 1.9 million tonnes of perfectly good food in the food service industry is wasted.

The Hitchin Food Rescue Hub intends to provide regular and well supported opportunities for members of our community to come together in the interests of saving perfectly good food from landfill.

Our mission:

To divert perfectly edible food from landfill.
To offer a multitude of locally prioritised benefits to Hitchin and its surrounding communities.
To stumulate consumer behaviour change in regards to environmenal and climate change.
