Funding up to £3000 available for community-based organisations and private landowners or land managers for nature improvement projects.

The Environmental Improvement Grant funding is aimed at supporting projects which enhance biodiversity on local land and communities.

Applicants can request funding from Herts County Council for up to 50% of their project costs, capped at £3,000.

Example Projects:

  • Ecological improvement to enhance biodiversity such as wildflower meadow restoration or the management of trees and woodland.
  • Tree planting in areas smaller than one hectare. 
  • Water bodies and wetlands such as the creation or restoration of ponds, wetlands or reedbed.
