Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is making progress towards its net zero goals with the launch of new measures to tackle climate change, including: 

  • Adoption of new Trasition to Net Zero Strategy on 7th January setting out how it will achieve its vision of becoming a sustainable, biodiverse borough.
  • Roll out of free 20-minute online climate awareness training, in partnership with Meritec, which will raise awareness about key issues, highlight what is already being done, and provide ideas on how to live more sustainably
  • Our Climate Biodiversity Cabinet Panel have approved supporting the Climate and Nature Bill, which is designed to boost the UK’s climate ambitions in line with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels
