Market Place

Transforming the Market Place in Hatfield
Hatfield Market Place is set to undergo an exciting transformation, creating an attractive and vibrant space at the heart of the town. The project will enhance the area with new, high-quality street furniture, planting, and play equipment, making it a welcoming destination for families, visitors, and the local community.
This regeneration is part of the Hatfield 2030+ programme, a long-term vision to revitalise the town and support local businesses by increasing footfall and encouraging visitors to stay longer.
What to Expect
The Market Place regeneration will:
- Create a vibrant and accessible public space for people of all ages.
- Feature new seating, planting, and play areas inspired by Hatfield’s rich history and identity.
- Deliver environmental benefits, with a 10% net gain in biodiversity through new green spaces.
- Support local businesses by attracting more visitors to the town centre.
- Provide a safe and inclusive space for the community to relax, play, and enjoy quality time together.
The project builds on previous successful regeneration efforts, including White Lion Square and One Town Centre, and is supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
