The Heart of Christmas

Bringing festive cheer to the community this Christmas!

The Heart of Christmas

We're not going to try and predict what will happen over the next few weeks (we all remember what happened last year!), but one thing we can be sure of - Welwyn Hatfield will be coming together between now and the big day to celebrate The Heart of Christmas with our communities.

We think it's fair to say that we could all do with a proper  Christmas this year. That's why we're stepping up the seasonal activities in the borough to bring back that festive feeling, not just for one night but throughout the festive season. We'll be sprinkling the streets with Christmas magic bringing you a host of activities including light trails, craft markets, lantern parades, live music and entertainment, festive Xplorer challenges, face painters, circus performers and special visits from Santa!

Find details of all our festive activities on our events calendar.

Christmas starts at home, with family and the local community, so this year we're focusing on bringing the community together to get the best from our local area. We will be promoting activities to all our residents including those most in need and bringing traditional entertainment and activities to celebrate our communities, the true heart or Christmas.

Would you like to get involved?

We are looking for local organisations representing all nationalities who want to get involved in helping us bring people together at a very special time.

The Heart of Christmas is about creating community-led activities in our neighbourhoods and town centres, making our high streets as vibrant and welcoming as possible, and supporting our local businesses, clubs and other organisations along the way. As well as the activities we have organised, we are asking local businesses or community groups to get involved and organise their own festive events or activities.

If you're interested and want to find out more about running an event in the town centre as part of the activities, just get in touch with our Community Partnership Team by emailing communityparterships@welhat.gov.uk.
