This Girl Can returns to Welwyn Hatfield!
This Girl Can Week returns to Welwyn Hatfield on 15 June, part of Sport England’s national campaign to inspire women and girls of all ages and abilities to get moving.
With approximately 50 sports or fitness-based activities and sessions available, mostly free of charge, residents across the borough can try something new, rediscover a forgotten passion, or simply have fun while being active.
Choose from ladies-only kickboxing, volleyball and mixed martial arts, plus Ping Pong Social and introduction to weightlifting (using lightweight poles so great for beginners) which is being run by Gilda, an Olympic weightlifter! With archery, tennis and much more, there’s something for everyone, whatever your age, and whether you're a beginner or just looking to try something different.
Running from 15 to 21 June, you can find the full event calendar, with details of each activity at one.welhat.gov.uk/thisgirlcan.
Sport England’s This Girl Can Week continues to grow in scale and impact, creating welcoming, judgment-free opportunities for women and girls to boost their confidence, fitness and wellbeing.
Councillor Max Holloway, Executive Member for Community and Leisure, said:
“I am delighted that we are once again participating in This Girl Can Week. This special week for women and girls just keeps getting bigger and better, with more sessions than ever before on offer this year! This Girl Can brings different generations together with activities for all ages, whether as part of a team or as a solo participant. It’s all about having fun and feeling healthy and invigorated. I would encourage women and girls across the Borough to check the online events calendar and get involved!”
