Competition terms and conditions

1. The Promoter

The promoter is: Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, Council Offices, Campus East, Welwyn Garden City AL8 6AE.

2. The competition

2.1    The competition is an artwork compeition open to schools, children and teenages living in Welwyn Hatfiled Borough.

3. How to enter

3.1    The competition will run from 09.04.2025 and 02.06.2025
3.2     Get creative – paint, draw, sketch, or design something that celebrates strength, confidence, and empowerment in girls and women. Whether it's a bold portrait, an inspiring scene, or an abstract interpretation, we want to see your imagination come to life!
3.3     Send the image to communitypartnerships@welhat.gov.uk. Include a title and a description about what it is. Provide your name and age. 

4. Eligibility

4.1    The competition is open to childnre, teenagers and schools in the Welwyn Hatfield borough.
4.2     All artwork must be original work.
4.5    In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.6   The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

5. The Prize's 

5.1    There will be a winner and runner up prize for every age category, with prizes donated from local businesses.
5.2    The prize's are not negotiable.  
5.3    The prize's are non-transferrable and is not redeemable for cash.

6. Winners

6.1    One winning entry will be selected on  by our Climate Change officer. 
6.2    The winner will be announced during the This Girl Can week (9 - 15 June). 

7. Claiming the prize

7.1    If you are the winner of the prize, Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council will contact you via email. If no response is received after 5 days, a new winner will be selected and the previous winner will forfeit all rights to the prize.

8. Consent

9.1    By participating in this competition, you agree to be featured in any/all Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and the BID content produced for social media and any future Digital/traditional marketing material. 

9. Data protection and publicity

10.1    All email addresses will be held securely on a server in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.  To find out more about how we use your data, please see our Privacy Notice.
10.2    Personal data is never sold or shared with other charities or companies.

10. General

11.1    If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2    The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3    These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
